Choose the right Cosmetic Tattoo technician

Choose the right Cosmetic Tattoo technician

Cosmetic tattoo is becoming very popular and therefor we are seeing many new technicians popping up doing bad to mediocre work due to lack of quality training.

Unfortunately it is a regular occurrence at Forever Fabulous that we are seeing clients who are seeking corrections due to them finding “bargain” cosmetic tattoo treatments. Luckily we can often help these people but sometimes we can not. These unsatisfactory results can be life changing for many clients as cosmetic tattoo can be long lasting and therefor devastating.

IMG_8633The picture above is a client that came to me unhappy with her cosmetic tattoo bottom eyeliner. You can see where the ink had migrated under the skin and left her with a dark patch under the eye. The liner is too thick and not the right colour. This client actually went back to the technician to tell ┬áher she was unhappy with this result and she tried to cover it up with a skin colour ink. It didn’t work. This is one example of a poorly trained technician.

I found this picture on google. I think it speaks for itself.

You need to choose your technician wisely and do your homework. Remember this is your face so it is worth putting in a little more time or spending a little more money to be sure you are happy with the result.

So how do you choose the right technician for you?

The important thing is ask Questions!

Simple questions like

-How long have you been in the industry?

-How many treatments have you performed?

-Are you a member of any cosmetic tattoo associations? (like the SPCP)

-Where did you get your qualifications in Cosmetic tattoo?

-What can I expect them to look like before, during and after the procedure?

-What are the aftercare instructions?

These questions can give you a better understanding whether this technician is properly trained and if they are the right technician for you.

Can I see before and after photos?

I think this is one of the most important questions. Make sure the photos belong to the technician and are not photoshopped.

I have seen people using stock photos of treatments that are NOT their work or even stealing photos from other technicians on social media.

A great way to see if photos belong to that technician is a watermark.

You need to see their work to be sure they are the right technician for you. We all have different techniques we use with different results and not every technician is suited to each client. This is a great way to see the quality of their work.
